Autonomous Lawn Mower
A driverless electric mower that cuts large lawns on its own, avoids obstacles and docks itself to charge.
My role
Product Owner at Flo Mobility. My team built the autonomous driving system for the electric autonomous lawn mower.

What it does
- Mows large lawns without an operator, or under remote control when needed.
- Detects objects and stops or steers around them.
- Cuts at a precise, adjustable height.
- Returns to a dock to charge, and can be watched live from a fleet app.
Who it was for
Campuses, parks, golf courses and large estates that need big lawns cut regularly with a small crew.

How it works
- GPS and on-board sensors keep it on its mowing pattern, while sonar and object detection keep it clear of people and things.
- Tilt, lift and rain sensors stop the blades when something is wrong.
- When the battery runs low it drives back to its dock, and an operator can take over remotely at any time.
